  Activity/Product Description

a) Characterize the current crop-livestock production and marketing systems using past studies, existing survey data and gap fill through additional survey/FGDs with the stakeholders. b) Parameterize and validate models to simulate farm productivity (crop and forage yields), household bio-economics (cash flow) with special focus on factors constraining the adoption of innovative crop-livestock farming practices and market options. c) Assess the impacts and potential for adoption of interventions proposed for enhancing production of ASF at the household level considering key socio-economic factors such as access to capital, labour, gender impact, home consumption and profitability. d) Scenario analysis with household cash flows (what if): Developing scenarios using integrated whole farm models to evaluate the impact of different interventions on households’ cash flows under current and future climate and market conditions.
