  Activity/Product Description
    
*A Faidherbia-(Millet+peanut+cowpea)-livestock agro-sylvo-pastoral plot from the groundnut basin in Senegal has been selected and equipped in early 2018 to monitor NPP, yield, GHG balance, hydrology and ecosystem services at the scale of 2 ha or so. : please dowload the "Faidherbia-Flux Observatory " monthly pdf report here : "http://agraf.msem.univ-montp2.fr/Senegal.html" *to date, 2 years of data are available regarding millet yield (millet was the main crop in this plot in 2018, peanut is the main crop2019), Faidherbia's growth and the ecosystem balance in energy, water, CO2 * a lot of equipment has been installed: (i) 3 eddy-covariance towers, soil temperature and humidity profiles; (ii) Root observatory platform was set up through 6 deep permanent pits (8 m deep) with soil observatory windows, automatic scanners, minirhizotrons, TDR probes, Suction cap sensors... Three of the pits were installed under Faidherbia trees and 3 others more than 30 m from trees. (iii) 2 automatic soil respiration chambers; (iv) 5 trees were equipped for sapflow in trunks and roots to study tree transpiration and hydraulic redistribution; (v) Automatic soil respiration chambers were settled; (iv) drone flights were performed every month during the wet season in 2019 and 2019. * in 2018 A factorial design field trial has been settled, comparing millet alone, millet+cowpea (with cowpea at 2 densities) under to levels of fertilization (SIIL-SIMCO Project)
