Innovation TitleCommunity-based green mussel production system in Cox's Bazar (Bangladesh)
Innovation description The green mussel production system is a community-driven initiative to develop a blue food production system as a nature-based solution in the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh. The coastal fishing households are generating an increased income from green mussel farming to cope with the hardship of marine fishing bans.

Stage DescriptionCo-designed the study to compare different production systems and investigated the interrelationship of eco-physiological factors and biometric traits of green mussel involving researchers and communities. Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) and Falcon International provided technical supports to ensure technology dissemination and establish market links for communities.
