Innovation TitleWomen’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEFI), a methodological tool for assessing women’s transformative change in fisheries and aquaculture
Innovation description A methods package (tool) for assessing women’s empowerment and transformative change in fisheries and aquaculture. The tool draws from the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index, but has adapted it in key ways: i) for fisheries and aquaculture; ii) for use as a before and after measure; iii) to include both qualitative and quantitative measures; iv) to include measures of gender transformative change, i.e., change in local structural gender barriers, in particular gender norms and attitudes.
